K9 Blackjack served with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office for over 7 years with his handler, Sergeant Brian Noll.  K9 Blackjack and his handler were recognized for their efforts as partners, their commitment to the unit, and for ensuring the safety of citizens within their community.

After his retirement in 2023, he lived a life of leisure with his handler, Sergeant Brian Noll, and family. K9 Blackjack loved his Kong, lying in the sun, playing with his housemate Greta, and snuggling with Sergeant Noll. K9 Blackjack’s health took a sudden turn in March of 2025, and he passed away at his home with family and friends. K9 Blackjack and Sergeant Noll were passionate about medical education for first responders and other K9 handlers throughout the State. They were both present for the passage of Senate Bill 435, which allows first responders to provide medical care for injured domestic animals at the scene of an emergency.
