K9 Bowie, a member of the Madison Police Department K9 Unit, was described by his partner Eric Disch as a “once in a lifetime partner”. K9 Bowie passed away in January 2025 after recovering from bone cancer, only to get an incurable liver cancer.

K9 Bowie served on the Madison Police Department since 2018 and had an incredible career, excelling in patrol and narcotics. He played a key role in several high-profile cases across Dane County, including tracking, apprehensions, and drug seizures involving dangerous criminals. Members of the Operational K9 Medical Team of Wisconsin cared for Bowie through their employment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. The Capital City K9s support the Madison Police Department and is a 501c3.
