Everyone has a role to play in caring for Operational K9s, and we’re proud to provide medical support for injured K9s whenever we can. Learn how our volunteer veterinarians deliver care and can even help coordinate hospitalizations to ensure wounded K9s receive the attention they need and deserve in emergency situations.

On-Site Medical Care

When needed, our team can provide on-site emergency medical care if members of our team are present at large-scale events where operational K9s are either training or actively working.

For example, we’re available to help if a K9 is injured while participating in a training or recertification program, while working in a natural disaster situation, or aiding in a search and rescue operation that our team is involved in. When we’re on the scene, we’re ready to leap into action.

Field Trauma Go-Bags

Through a generous donation we were able to secure a number of emergency bags. We know preparation is key in emergency situations, which is why we aim to equip our veterinarians with fully stocked field trauma go-bags. These bags contain essential tools, medical equipment, medications, and more to ensure we’re prepared to provide care when an emergency arises.

Facilitating Hospitalizations

When it comes to injuries, every second counts. Rapid response and medical attention can significantly improve outcomes and recovery times for injured K9s.

In situations where our team can’t be physically present, we may be able to help coordinate emergency hospitalizations for injured K9s. As experienced veterinarians, we work closely with animal hospitals around the state to ensure these K9s receive the necessary medical attention.

We are a small, all-volunteer team, and while we can’t respond to every individual emergency, we commit to responding when we can. Contact us to inquire about an emergency request.
